The Women’s Premier League is set to be conducted from March 4th to March 26th, 2023 in Mumbai. The matches (22 in total) will take place in the D.Y. Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium.
The list of cricketers for the Player Auction has been released, with 409 players scheduled to be auctioned on February 13th, 2023. This will be out of 1525 players who registered for the inaugural auction.
The Women’s Premier League 2023 Player Auction will include a total of 409 players. Out of which 246 are from India and 163 are from overseas countries, with 8 players from associate nations. Among them, 202 are capped players, 199 are uncapped players, and 8 are from associate nations. Five teams will have a maximum of 90 slots available, with 30 slots reserved for overseas players.
24 players have chosen the highest reserve price of INR 50 Lakhs. It includes Indian cricket stars such as Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma, who led India to the Under-19 T20 World Cup victory.
Thirteen overseas players, including Sophie Ecclestone, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, and Deandra Dottin, have chosen to be slotted under the reserve price of INR 50 Lakhs. Moreover, 30 players have a base price of INR 40 Lakh on the auction list commencing at 14:30 IST.
