Mukesh Ambani, Chairperson and Managing Director of the Reliance industries announced in its Annual General Meeting that the company will roll out 5G services from this Diwali. Previously, Reliance Jio turned out to be the largest bidder during the 5G spectrum auction. The company is also planning to bring affordable 5G mobiles to the market. The devices will be made in partnership with Google. Initially, the network will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. The company also made a statement about the 5G rollout throughout the nation by December 2023.
Chairperson of RIL, Mukesh Ambani said that digital freedom is the birthright of every Indian. He also added that the company has committed an investment of 2 lakh crore to build a pan-India 5G network.
The company will make use of standalone 5G services rather than non-standalone 5G. The NSA 5G is dependent on 4G to provide connectivity. At the AGM 2022, Mukesh Ambani said that this standalone 5G will be the “world’s largest” 5G service. He added that 5G services will connect everyone, every place, and everything at an affordable price and provides the highest quality. This will help in giving faster connectivity and low-latency delivery. SA 5G network will provide a true 5G connectivity which the Jio is going to have.
He also added that the 5G connectivity will be not only accessible to the privileged rather will be available for all masses. It will be interesting to see how the 5G services will turn out in India. Overwhelming experience will be there on the other side of the fence and it will all depend on the implementation of what has been stated in the meeting.
